My name is Alejandra and I am 25 years old. I was always interested in music, so I decided to study Recording Arts in Florida. Before I arrived at college, I was about 20 pounds too much for my height and body frame. Once I entered college, I started to care more about my health and fitness. No matter what time of day it was I would make sure I’d find time to workout. My condo complex had a gym and I would walk to and from campus. By going to college in Florida it was like you had to look a certain way so I started to care more about how I looked and it only became worse. However, after a while I realized you have to be happy with yourself and not an image. I’ve had gym memberships for over 5 years and the last four months I decided to switch it up and try out the Insanity workout videos. I find those videos a million times better than working out at the gym.
My fitness routine includes: working out 6 days a week and eating 5 small meals a day. I find eating a lot of protein helps me with my workouts and in between meals as well.
My favorite part of my workouts would be anything with cardio, I like to sweat and run. If I don’t workout I feel gross, but then again it’s always good to let your body rest from all the working out.
I would say my best fitness tip would be, start of little by little and work your way up to what you and the body can handle, and never give up. Make sure you eat small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism going throughout the day. I incorporate the Designer Whey protein bars as a snack, as well as the protein shake. I love the chocolate one. I also have the powder form that I make shakes at home and incorporate it in recipes.
I would say what keeps me motivated is knowing how I used to look back in the day till now. I refuse to go back looking the way I did years and years ago. I’ve worked so hard to get where I am and won’t let that go to waste.
We love how active Alejandra is and regularly keep up with her on Twitter @AlejandraL4
